2010 Accessibility Statement
Please find outlined below information we hope will ensure you enjoy your visit to Bow River House regardless of whether your life is affected in some way by a medical condition, disability, impairment, or specific learning difficulty.
Prior to your arrival
- Enquiries and reservations may be made by phone or email;
- Should you require a taxi to Bow River House from Newbury Station (15 minute drive) or Heathrow Airport (45 minute drive), we use a reliable company on a regular basis and we would be delighted to book them on your behalf;
- Directions to our B&B can be found on our website.
On arrival at Bow River House
- We have a level parking area at the front of the house.
- Entrance to the hotel is by way of one door step.
- We are more than happy to help you with your luggage and will collect it from your car and deliver it to your room if preferred.
Reception area
- Wooden oak floors throughout;
- Reception is all on one level.
B&B guest lounge room
- Wooden oak floors throughout and on one level that is accessible from the front entrance of the house;
- There is one large door from the Reception to the Guest Lounge room;
- There is ample movable seating and there are chairs with or without arms;
- A radio is available for use in this room
- Full waiter service;
- Our dining table is laid with cream table linen;
- All areas are well lit.
Toilets
- One toilet is situated on the ground floor in the Reception area and is easily accessible from both the Reception and the Guest Lounge room;
Accommodation
- All three rooms are located on the first floor. All rooms have their own ensuites. The Royal Oak room is a particularly large room with a super king size bed and a bath as well as a shower in the ensuite;
- We do not have adapted bathrooms and grab rails are not in the bedrooms or bathrooms. We do have non slip mats available for use in all ensuites.
The fire alarm system is a piecing noise and does not have flashing lights. Assistance is given if evacuation is necessary.
We have tried to be as accurate as possible and have included as much detail as we can in our Access Statement, however we welcome your feedback to continuously improve on the information we provide.
